Quick Guide to Equestrianism

Although not very common now, horses make effective modes of transport. Being the skill of driving and riding horses, equestrianism may be both a hobby and a daily task for some people. Instead of cars and other engine-operated vehicles, horses are used to carry passengers to transfer them from one place to another. This makes equestrianism a unique mode of transport.

Equestrians should be skilled enough to ride a horse. To become as such means adequate training to ride and control it. During competitions that involve horseback riding, you are recommended to wear the complete gear. This includes the proper equestrian attire with a sturdy piece of helmet. You should be knowledgeable and trained enough to tame and control the directions of a horse. As an equestrian, you must also ensure the health and overall condition of your horse before, during and after riding.

Although horses move slowly than common cars, they are very environment-friendly. They do not emit harmful smoke, and do not need gas to keep them moving. This makes them ideal for travelling in short distances where equestrianism is legalised. Depending on the country where horses are permitted to be used for transport, it can be a very rewarding experience for the passenger, who can also be a tourist.

After riding a horse, it should be given adequate rest. They should have a wide and clean stable, including an ample supply of grass and clean water. Health checks should be performed at a regular basis by veterinarians trained in equine care. As much as possible, quality horse food should be given along with other health products and equine supplies.
